Americans suffering from hypertension or high blood pressure is well known. This silent disease is often not diagnosed until severe damage is done already. Vitamin C
Has been proven to lessen the risk of some heart diseases and hypertension. It strengthens the arteries by stopping production of free radicals, which damage the walls of the arteries. Potassium
It can be used to decrease the risk of heart disease and hypertension. Potassium reduces the sodium levels of the body. Several foods are rich in potassium, such as bananas, potatoes and milk.
Magnesium
The deficiency is also implemented as a cause of high blood pressure. Whole grains, leafy vegetables and nuts are excellent sources of magnesium. Magnesium and calcium have been shown to work in conjunction with each other to treat hypertension.

Is an enzyme that you will find in the body, provides energy to the hart and helps with blood circulation. The natural blood thinning qualities of garlic also helps to improve blood circulation. Flaxseed does wonders with improving circulation and reduces the common affects of hypertension. An amino acid present in your body, Taurine, helps to protect the brain from the damage that can be caused by hypertension. An extract from a mushroom called Reishi are also known to reduce the risk factors associated with edema, regarded to be one of the most dangerous symptoms of hypertension.
