It happens when blood flowing in blood vessels makes more pressure on the heart than there should be. This pressure is measured with two measurements called the Systolic and Diastolic blood pressure measurements. When one of the values become higher or lower than what is considered normal then it is said the person has high or low blood pressure.

Systolic pressure is the force exerted by the heart on the blood vessels. The Diastolic pressure is the lowest pressure exerted by the blood on the walls of the blood vessels when the heart is relaxed. In its simplest of explanations is a very basic understanding.
What is a Normal Blood Pressure?
The normal value of blood pressure reading for people is said to be 120/80. 120 parts of the measurements is the Systolic pressure over 80 the diastolic pressure.
